Robyn Benincasa’s new talk is the latest in a series, each of which focuses on a different aspect of team building and corporate culture. In all of her talks, she shares stories from her long career as a firefighter, world-class athlete, and adventure racer, showing teams how to build a world-class team that will keep moving forward toward audacious goals with one heart and one mind.

The experienced keynote speaker began her career in sales in the pharmaceutical and hospital supply industry for eight years, where she gained a deep understanding of the challenges today’s businesses face before shifting careers to become a full-time San Diego firefighter for 23 years.

Throughout that time and in the years that followed, she participated in some of the most grueling physical challenges known to man. “From the leech-infested jungles of Borneo to the towering peaks of Tibet and Ecuador, to the frigid seas and glaciers of Patagonia and the searing desert of Namibia, my teammates and I have raced through some of the most remote corners of the planet for up to ten relentless days and nights, earning for ourselves an ‘honorary Ph.D.’ in teambuilding,” Benincasa recalls.

Since then, she has taken the stage at corporate events, speaking before audiences at some of the largest companies in the world. She was also responsible for creating and leading the Athena Project, a non-profit dedicated to helping women who have overcome traumatic setbacks live more fulfilling, adventurous lives.

The overarching theme behind both her life and her work as a keynote speaker lies in team building, a concept that forms the backbone of her latest presentation as well.

As solo players, she explains, “We can’t match the outcomes that a great team can accomplish together. A good deal of that success has to do with not only sharing strengths but also, most importantly, sharing the good, the bad, and the not-so-pretty circumstances that each individual is enduring.”

Benincasa provides actionable real-life strategies for building and inspiring a team that is able to connect with one another for mutual gain, whether for a moment, a project, a mutual goal, or a lifetime.

“Robyn Benincasa gave one of the most inspirational and meaningful teamwork speeches I’ve heard in a long time,” said Tammy Winberr, Regional Marketing Coordinator at Allstate Benefits.

Her keynotes are available as in-person talks or virtually, during which she delivers a multimedia experience for attendees over the course of 30-60 minutes.
